An Artist and Dad in Process

This isn’t a how-to blog…well, maybe it is…but I’m not here to give instructions.

I’m here to offer insight — about things that have and haven’t worked for me, stories that feel important enough to write down, and those anvil-on-the-head lessons I mostly learned the hard way.

I’m a dad. I’m an artist. Those two things don’t take turns the way I thought they would. They overlap, interrupt each other, and occasionally team up in ways that feel useful and honest.

Most days feel unfinished. Not bad — just in progress. I’m interested in what it looks like to live inside that space without rushing to turn it into a takeaway or a productivity system.

Some of what I write here will be about parenting. Some of it will be about making art. A lot of it will be about the overlap — the places where life happens quietly and no one is clapping, but the moment still sticks with you.

I’m not pretending I’ve figured anything out.

I’m trying to stay present. I’m trying to move at a sustainable pace. I’m trying to notice what helps and name what doesn’t without turning either into a rule.

If this turns into something useful for someone else, great. If it just ends up being a record of paying attention, that’s enough too.

This is me writing from the middle of things — not the beginning, not the resolution.

Welcome.
